Over the years, besides playing live, I developed an interest/desire to record music. Regarding the fact that nowadays the studio scene is subject to a lot of changes, I'm not at work in studios on a daily basis.
It's not because there's no need for live drums anymore, but budgets are different and also spent in different ways. More often it seems more efficient to have your own studio and provide complete recordings via the internet.
From this point of view I came to the idea to change my practice room into a recording room. There is another room right next to it, which I changed into a control room. Here I can also mix complete recordings, another interest I developed in just a short period of time.
Lately I invested in the right tools like a computer, software, interface and microphones. It will be subject to change over the next period of time, all for the better, in search for the perfect sound...
Also a great advantage of having a studio at home is the gear, available instantly. Gear is expanding over time for more variety in sound. (See the bottom of this page to check the Gear List!)
I can work in the studio alone. It works great with written drum parts to be recorded, but I can imagine that some people would like to have an influence on the sound, the feel or the arrangement of the drum parts. If so, working together with a producer/engineer is a serious option.
